Thanks for visiting us at Adam Pressley Films! If you missed our inaugural blog post on high-definition technology as the new standard in great wedding videos, be sure to check it out. We’ve demystified the world of HDTV screen resolutions, interlaced versus progressive scan displays, and the equipment our videographers use to capture all the detail of your wedding.
Once again, our goal with this blog is to invite you further into the world of wedding videography, perhaps as you prepare for your own special day. We hope you’ll recognize our passion for excellence as you learn some useful information on how we produce wedding videos.
In today’s post, we set aside the technical stuff for a tour of a few exciting wedding venues in our hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. Adam Pressley Films crews are happy to travel just about anywhere for your big event, but we know and love Jacksonville, so it makes sense to start here. The city and its surrounding areas have some of the most quaint and memorable wedding sites.
Casa Marina Hotel (www.casamarinahotel.com)
Couples looking for traditional weddings often turn to reception halls and hotels to provide generic meeting places that can be easily jazzed up for the big event. However, if your traditional wedding requires the utmost elegance and sophistication, look no further than the Casa Marina Hotel. The beachfront courtyard provides a perfect ceremony vista, especially for great wedding videos, while the dining room just inside invites a majestic reception.
The Conference Center at the Jacksonville Public Library (See Brochure)
The main branch of Jacksonville’s own public library boasts an impressive arrangement of auditoriums, banquet halls, and meeting rooms that host many beautiful wedding ceremonies and receptions each year. The outdoor courtyard, the library’s most popular site for weddings, surrounds a serene, underlit reflecting pool. The atrium provides an indoor alternative with a spectacular view of this scene, and surrounding rooms can easily accommodate much larger events with style.
927 Events (www.927events.com)
If you need a clean, classy wedding venue but would prefer lively color and contemporary edge over more traditional stuffiness, the sky-blue building at 927 West Forsyth was renovated with you in mind. 927 Events handles special occasions in their 5,000 square feet of second- and third-floor event space. Bright colors, unique artwork, and open ceilings add lots of character to an elegant combination of dark-stained floors, brickwork, and crème paint. Chef Chriss also offers top-notch catering.
